About me
I write about trees, forestry, and the environment. I also specialise in tree photography.
My first and award-winning book The New Sylva was published by Bloomsbury in 2014 and reprinted in 2021. I’ve also written two novels, released two short story collections, and a poetry anthology. My short stories have been included in two anthologies.
Forthcoming books for 2026 are The Forest Guide: England and RSPB Trees of the British Isles.
For my day job I lead an environmental charity (Sylva Foundation) I cofounded in 2009.
